Does this sound like you?

You’ve worked your entire life to finally reach retirement. Then, suddenly, there it is, staring you in the face and saying, “Okay, here I am. Now, what will I do with myself?!”

Hard to believe, right? A few years ago, you couldn’t wait! Looking forward to retirement and a lot more time to do the things you haven’t had time to do, having tons of freedom, peacefulness, recreation, and worry-free easy life.

But now, it’s inches away. And the fear sets in. Anxiety and worry become your bed partners. What had been so clear is now wrapped in a fog of uncertainty.

The questions: What will I do? How will I find meaning? Where do I find my purpose? How do I find a non-work social network? How will our life go together 24/7 with each other if married? How will I fill each day, each week? Will I become a slug?

If you are considering retirement but feeling unsure about it, or wondering what your retirement life will look like, you might benefit from Retirement Coaching. Here’s a secret: your retirement doesn’t have to follow a specific path or “mold” – your retirement can and should be as wonderfully unique as you are!

A neutral third party like a retirement coach can help you figure out what an ideal retirement means for you, on your terms. You’ll create a plan to make it all happen, and you’ll be held accountable each step of the way.

Juleen provides 1:1 coaching in-person and online, to tackle and answer these questions and get you creating your wonderful retirement life.

The Retirement Coaching Process

My approach to 1:1 coaching is a very co-active one. The client and I are in collaboration as we move things forward toward their retirement life goals. All the while, the client deepens the self-awareness, self- discovery, and learning that becomes part of that journey.

My goal is for you to see how this fulfilled and passionate lifestyle can benefit you, just like it has for me and so many others.

Throughout our coaching, Juleen will utilize many resources,

the framework from the book “Portfolio Life” by David Corbett, to create a unique retirement plan for

Retirement Coaching

  • The more personal side of retirement planning, retirement coaching combines social science and research to help you plan beyond the dollars and cents.

Retirement coaching typically relates to many of the lifestyle changes that go along with retirement. They can range from topics such as where you’ll live to what you’ll do with your time. A retirement coach guides you through the process of creating action steps to discuss your unique retirement concerns.

Retirement coaching is a guided conversation between a coach and a client (like you) specifically focused on how you want to live your life in retirement. We start with your values, needs, wants and desires – then develop an action plan to get you where you need to be.

  • Through our coaching sessions, we will explore and create plans for the mental, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of your life in retirement.

I will help you see your retirement for what it can be by taking you through a written, proven process to help:

    • Replace your work identity

    • Clarify what you want to accomplish during your retirement

    • Live each moment more fully

    • Make plans to create meaning & contribution during your retirement

    • Celebrate your achievements thus far

    • Find peace and be more in touch with your life's guiding values

    • Be mentally and physically active

    • Allocate your time and resources

    • Stay relevant and connected

Together, we will use time-tested techniques, exercises, workbooks, and quizzes. You will learn that you don’t need to figure everything out on your own, and you certainly don’t need to learn the hard way.

As human beings, we are not meant to do nothing. We are meant to be connected with others and to have meaning and purpose in our lives. That’s not always easy. And that’s where I step in as your retirement coach.

  • I like to coach people who are willing to put in the work of being coached and expect to get results—I want to have an impact!

The ideal coaching client for me is someone who thinks, “I want more than what I currently have,” but are stuck in some part of the process, such as:

    • You aren’t sure what the “more” might be.

    • You know what the “more” is, but you aren’t sure how to get there.

    • You’re there, but it’s not what you expected—now what?

    • You have found yourself in an unexpected or unplanned place, and you don’t know what to do.

If this sounds like you, then contact me to get started/schedule your free complimentary call.

  • Coaching is proven to work when there are just two factors present:

    1) You, as the client, are willing to grow

    2) There is a gap between where you are now and where you want to be

With a coach, you will make smarter decisions and take better actions because you set the goals you really want. And finding out what you really want is one of our tasks.

In addition, when working with a coach, you will reach for more and not be consumed in the process. That’s because you have a partner whom you can trust—you can reach big because you can afford to. That’s what I am to you.

Also, while you’re in a coaching program, your focus will be much clearer. My clients are smart—but they aren’t always focused!
